Patrick Gorman is a leader in Booz Allen’s cybersecurity business. With 35 years of experience, Patrick’s work spans multiple capabilities, from digital technology strategy and systems development to technology risk management and cybersecurity.

Patrick started his civilian career at Booz Allen focused on digital technology and cybersecurity, strategic planning, business development, marketing, and capture management for our government and commercial cyber portfolio.

Prior to rejoining the firm, he was the head of strategy and product at CyberGRX, a cyber risk management company, and the chief security officer for Bridgewater Associates, where he led cyber, physical, and staff security for the world’s largest hedge fund. Patrick also served as senior vice president and global chief information security officer for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading cybersecurity policy, technology, management, and operations. He sits on several technology start-ups boards and has worked with universities in Maryland and Florida to build their cybersecurity programs.

Patrick’s background in technology and risk also includes previous experience as assistant director of national intelligence and chief information officer for the U.S. intelligence community, where he was responsible for IT transformation and cybersecurity for all national intelligence agencies in the U.S. Additionally, Patrick was one of the principal coordinators to set up the Transportation Security Administration after 9/11. He spent more than 10 years in the U.S. Air Force as part of the National Security Agency/Central Security Service in strategic airborne reconnaissance with service in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Central America.

Patrick holds a bachelor’s in government and economics from the University of Maryland and a master’s in Russian and Eastern European studies from The George Washington University. He participated in Harvard Business School’s business strategy executive program and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute.
